OPERATIONAL PROTOCOL FOR WORKING WITH CONFIGURATIONS OF ASHKHAR’S CIVILIZATIONAL ACTION (V. 1.0)
I. Protocol Status
This protocol belongs to the level immediately following the document "Configurations of Civilizational Action of Ashkhar in the 21st Century" and locks down the method of analytical engagement with configurations. It introduces no new ontological foundations, does not modify the principle of differentiation, and does not construct typologies. It is not a methodology, an algorithm, or a tool for applied analysis. Its function is to maintain the conditions under which configurations remain distinguishable as modes of correlating elements, without reduction to composition, institutions, empirical data, or normative interpretations.
II. Principle of Operational Maintenance
Engagement with configurations is executed through maintenance, not description. Maintenance signifies locking down the mode of correlating elements without transitioning to their enumeration or their interpretation as standalone units. Operationally, this expresses itself in a shift of focus:
From “what is present” to “how connectivity is maintained”;
From “who acts” to “in what manner action becomes possible.”
A return of the analysis to individual elements marks a forfeit of the analytical level.
III. The Analytical Cross-Section
A configuration is accessible exclusively in the form of an analytical cross-section. A cross-section is the maintenance of a configuration within a specific combination of dimensions and regimes. It is not a state, a description of a situation, or a frozen moment in time. The cross-section is not extracted from empirical data; it is generated strictly within the act of differentiation. Its alteration is not identical to a mutation of the configuration.
IV. Method of Locking a Configuration
- Locking a configuration is executed through the simultaneous maintenance of three distinct aspects:
- The mode of maintaining connectivity;
- The mode of coordination emergence;
- The character of circuit correlation and the active regime of interaction.
These aspects do not form a sequence and do not exist in isolation. A configuration is locked only through their joint maintenance.
V. Multiplicity of Configurations
The analysis presupposes a multiplicity of configurations—their continuous coexistence, intersection, and overlap. Configurations do not form a hierarchy and are never reduced to a single unity. Attempting to reduce this multiplicity marks an immediate exit from the boundaries of the protocol.
VI. Level Distinction
The structural differences between levels must be strictly maintained:
Configuration: The mode of correlation.
State: The analytical cross-section.
Manifestation: The mode of detection.
Cross-level transitions or reconstructions between these layers are strictly impermissible.
VII. Limits of Maintenance
The limit of the protocol is reached where connectivity ceases to hold, and where the analysis reverts to elements or description. This limit cannot be designated in advance and is identified only during the course of work.
VIII. Purpose of the Protocol
The protocol establishes the conditions for the analytical maintenance of configurations. Its function is to safeguard differentiation and prevent structural reduction, enabling engagement with configurations as a rigorous level of analysis.
The Formula
The operational protocol is a method of maintaining a configuration through the correlation of elements without transitioning to their description.
Taglines
A configuration exists only in its maintenance and is locked through connectivity, never through elements.
The operational protocol holds the threshold of correlation against the descent into empirical description

ARCHITECTURE OF CONFIGURATIONS OF ASHKHAR’S CIVILIZATIONAL ACTION
The architecture of configurations of civilizational action is the system of conditions under which action arises as a method of correlating actors, circuits, and regimes of interaction, remaining entirely irreducible to their composition or structure.
