MAPPING CONFIGURATIONS OF CIVILIZATIONAL ACTION

I. Status and Purpose
This document codifies mapping as a mode of analytical work with the multiplicity of civilizational action configurations. Mapping is neither a reflection of reality, spatial map construction, modeling, nor an applied analytical procedure. Its function consists in correlating diverse modes of holding configurations without converting them into objects, states, or empirical manifestations.
II. Unit of Mapping
The unit of mapping is an analytical slice of a configuration. Mapping correlates not configurations themselves nor their constituent elements, but modes of holding connectivity across diverse combinations of coordination, contours, and interaction regimes. An analytical slice is formed in an act of distinction and exists solely within analysis; thus, mapping works not with reality as an object of description, but with the multiplicity of modes for its analytical retention.
III. Field of Mapping
The field of mapping forms no independent space and introduces no new coordinates or dimensions. It holds the conditions for correlating analytical slices. Attempting to present such a field as a space of object placement, tiers, or zones signifies transitioning from mapping to description and forfeiting the analytical tier.
IV. Correlation of Slices
Mapping is executed via correlating analytical slices. Such correlation is no comparison of states, establishes no sequences, and describes no dynamics or development. It fixes differences among modes of holding connectivity.
V. Multiplicity and Overlay
A necessary condition for mapping is preserving multiplicity. Analytical slices may coexist, intersect, and overlay whilst preserving distinction even amidst element coincidence. Mapping orders no multiplicity, forms no hierarchy, and isolates no central configuration.
VI. Limits of Mapping
The limit of mapping arises where an analytical slice begins to be interpreted as a state of reality, correlation is substituted by description, and distinction by classification or typology. Mapping thus holds not a finalized picture of the configuration space, but the possibility of analytical work with configuration multiplicity without forfeiting distinction.
Formula of the Document
Mapping configurations is the correlation of analytical slices holding the multiplicity of modes of organizing connectivity without converting configurations into objects, structures, or states.
Mapping fixes not configurations, but differences in the modes of holding them.
